The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce (GMCC) recently hosted a private, welcome reception for the Ambassador of Ireland to the United States, his excellency Daniel Mulhall, at the Coral Gables Museum.

During his official visit to Miami, Mulhall announced the opening of Ireland’s New Consulate in Miami in 2022. The new location would create an additional regional presence for Ireland in the Southeastern United States. The new Irish Consulate office will open in 2022.

“We were excited to have hosted a private reception for the Ambassador of Ireland to the U.S. on his first official visit to Miami,” said Alfred Sanchez, president and CEO of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. “Having him as our special guest to announce the opening of an Irish consulate in Miami is a significant win for our Magic City as we now have 81 consulates and trade offices. The opening of this consulate puts us at the top of the list for foreign investment.”

The event was organized and led by the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with representatives from Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners, International Trade Consortium, Miami World Trade Center, The Beacon Council, Miami International Airport, Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau and Baptist Health International.
