Miami Beach Resident Tees Up Generous Donation
— Raising Nearly $50,000 for Golf Club Staff Members —

WHO/WHAT:             When members of the city’s public golf courses — Normandy Shores and Miami Beach Golf Club — learned that staff was furloughed due to the impacts of COVID-19, they started a GoFund Me page organized by Richard McKnight. Though golf courses are currently off limits, employees at these facilities will soon learn about the limitless generosity of Miami Beach residents.

Less than three weeks after setting up the fundraiser, approximately $50,000 has been collected and will be distributed evenly tomorrow, April 21 starting at 10 a.m. amongst 85 staff members to help pay for rent, groceries and medication.

“Many of these employees live paycheck-to-paycheck and need the community's help to overcome this challenging time,” shared Richard McKnight. “Sometimes a small act can make a big difference.”

WHEN: Tuesday, April 21 at 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

WHERE: Normandy Shores Golf Club

2401 Biarritz Drive
Miami Beach, FL 33141
